Exchange of experience and innovative climate solutions is an important part of the Local Government Climate Change Leadership Summit. One of the notable products at the Summit has been the presentation of ClimateActionMap.org – an interactive website that presents climate projects throughout the world.
ClimateActionMap.org is a new website which allows cities and municipalities to share information about climate change projects in their communities with a global audience. By gathering information about climate change projects in communities throughout the world people can see that while the challenges faced by climate change are large, there is much work already being done to face these challenges.
It is the hope of the websites designers that ClimateActionMap.org will become a useful tool for cities and municipalities in planning for future climate change projects. The website will allow city planners to discover projects that have been carried out in other cities and to contact the individuals behind those projects in order to learn from them. In this way, communities can share information and experiences in working on climate change projects.
If you would like to learn more about projects that are fighting climate change, you are encouraged to visit www.climateactionmap.org and explore the energy projects in the two communities who have already signed up and shared information from their regions. If you are a community who would like to join this website to show off the projects in your region (it's free of charge) you may visit www.climateactionmap.org/register and sign up.
Funding for the development of ClimateActionMap.org was provided by Local Government Denmark and development was carried out by Baltic Sea Solutions.
