In a project led by the Italian Company, Development Researchers’ Network, a global evaluation of eight UNCDF programmes within local development and inclusive finance has been carried out - called the Special Projects Implementation Review (SPIRE).
LGDK participated in all phases of the SPIRE i.e. for the development of the methodology, as team leader for the midterm review of the Kenema District Economic Recovery Programme in Sierra Leone, during the “midterm” revision of the evaluation approach and as a team leader for the final evaluation of the Support to the Local Economy in Mwanza in Tanzania. Other countries covered by the SPIRE were Burundi, East Timor, Malawi, Rwanda and a regional programme in the Pacific Region.
