Denmark – Make a Virtual Visit to a Climate Project

LGDK has now launched the Danish Local Climate Map. It is a source of information for everyone in the municipal world working on climate change issues. With the map, it is possible to learn about the efforts of Danish municipalities in the field of climate change.

In other words, it is an opportunity to find inspiration for the work that needs to be done in your own municipality.

Background for the Danish Local Climate Map
Climate change is a global problem, but its consequences are always local – therefore local solutions to this global problem are needed. In this context, exchange of best practices on climate change is essential. We have to learn from each other if we want to cope with the problems.

The Danish Local Climate Map has been in a Danish version for some time already and has helped as an inspiration for Danish municipalities. Therefore, Local Government Denmark has chosen to launch an English version in order to provide inspiration to municipalities abroad that face same climate challenges.

At present there are 18 municipalities in the map and more are coming. The municipalities offer many different solutions to the problem of climate change. Both with regard to mitigation and adaptation to climate change.
