Administration and Digitalisation

The main heading for LGDK's activities within citizen service, digital administration and administration is "Administration and Digitalisation". The vision of the local government reform is that the municipality should be the citizens' main entry to public service.

This has resulted in major challenges both in terms of the structure of citizen service and the entire local government administration and IT policy.

Citizen service is an area under development. LGDK supports the efforts of the municipalities aimed at placing the citizen in focus by communicating experience regarding all aspects of citizen service ranging from the physical citizen service centre to digital communication on the website of the municipality.

Digital administration is another concept that covers the efforts made by LGDK and the local governments to digitalise local administration for the benefit of the citizens and the municipalities. LGDK supports the municipalities in the development of their own digital administrations to the extent possible.

Finally, LGDK has a number of activities within administration, including provision of a number of specific administrative tools and advice regarding good administrative practice. The aim of all these initiatives is to develop task solution in the municipalities to improve and facilitate the citizens' contact with the public sector.
