In the municipality of Albertslund, they are in the process of developing a new park lamp called the A lamp. This means that the old filament bulbs will be replaced by energy-efficient LEDs. The advantages are significant as the A lamp provides large energy-savings, high energy-efficiency, longer service life and robustness. Actually, as a result of the project the municipality of Albertslund will be able to reduce the current energy consumption by 40%.
Process
At the present time, the A lamp is still being refined to ensure good outdoor lighting and a minimal amount of energy waste. The plan is that the A lamp will be installed in all the parks, centres and pathways of the municipality.
Status
Testing of the A lamp is expected to be completed at the end of the year at which time an evaluation report will be distributed.
Results
Currently, five prototypes of the A lamp have been installed in the municipality. The project has also resulted in the development of luminous stones powered by solar cells and based on 100% renewable energy.
Financing
In addition to the financing made by the municipality, the project is supported by Danish Energy NET with PSO funds.
