The municipality of Herning gathers local players in an idea-generating and coordinating climate network.
Project description
The climate network is a forum of professional groups, organisations, authorities and companies in the local community where you cooperate and exchange experiences regarding the climate efforts in the municipality and establish partnerships with other local, regional and national players.
The purpose of the network is to inspire, generate ideas and coordinate climate activities in the municipality and to enable individual companies to present a climate-friendly profile.
Process
The municipality of Herning is the anchorman and secretary for the network promoting the activities involved. The network meets every second month and the participants undertake to be active, contribute to the activities of the network, and to make an effort to reduce CO2 emissions in their own organisations.
Financing
The project is financed by the municipality, and the business partners provide working hours. Applications are made for external funding for specific projects.
Status and results
The network can present concrete activities to business enterprises and provide the municipality with insight into the options available to these companies.
The municipality expects a reduction of CO2 emission as well as cash savings for the participants.

The Climatorium, including a museum and an experimentarium, provides experiences, research and education

Mobile climate exhibitions in collaboration with the library in Herning

Vision for mandatory training in climate issues
Presentation
The municipality can present the various processes and tools used to start an interdisciplinary cooperation between the private and the public sector.
A guided tour and presentations can be made in Danish, German and English.
