Agenda 21 – Green Council

The citizens in Vallensbæk are very committed to climate activities. Therefore, the part of the municipality's Agenda 21 council involving citizens, the so-called Green Council, organises events for the citizens concerning energy and climate.

Agenda 21 originates from the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. Here, 180 countries adopted the Agenda 21 charter which is an action programme for sustainable development in the 21st century.

Status and result
In March 2009, the Green Council organised a citizen meeting with the title "How do we save energy?" focusing on what the individual can do to save energy.
